This session serves as the city’s primary fiscal body, reviewing and approving contracts, expenditure requests, and personnel actions. For those unable to attend in person, the meeting is available via a virtual Webex link and is broadcast live on CharmTV. Public testimony is permitted on specific agenda items in accordance with the board’s established rules for participation.
Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners Hybrid Meeting

Key items on the docket include updates on the 2026-27 school year calendar and progress reports from the Charter Review Special Committee. Additionally, parents are reminded that registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten for the upcoming academic year is now open as of February 16. Applications for these early childhood programs must be submitted by Friday, April 17, 2026.
Department of Public Works: Service and Infrastructure Alerts
The Department of Public Works (DPW) continues to monitor street conditions following recent winter weather. Street sweeping services remain suspended across the city until further notice due to remaining ice and snow along curb lines. Mechanical equipment cannot operate safely in these conditions, and residents are advised to check official DPW social media channels for a resumption schedule. Furthermore, infrastructure projects along the Baltimore City and County border, including the water main replacements on Falls Road and Charles Street, are nearing completion. Motorists should expect minor lane closures and traffic delays between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM in these areas.
Health and Community Advisories
Under the FY 2026 Winter Shelter and Code Purple Plan, the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services continues to provide emergency shelter resources for vulnerable residents. While no active Code Blue alert is currently in effect, the Baltimore City Shelter Hotline remains open at 443-984-9540 for those in need of assistance. Community members are also invited to the virtual "West Wednesday" session at 7:00 PM, a recurring weekly event focusing on police accountability and justice. This session can be accessed through the official project YouTube channel.
