Official City Notices: Wednesday, March 4, 2026
The following official notices and public service announcements are active for the Baltimore metropolitan area as of Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Residents are encouraged to review meeting schedules and service changes affecting their neighborhoods.
Board of Estimates Weekly Meeting
The Baltimore Board of Estimates is scheduled to convene for its regular weekly meeting today, March 4, at 9:00 a.m. The session takes place in the Hyman Pressman Board Room, located on the second floor of City Hall (100 N. Holliday Street). As the city's primary fiscal body, the board will review and approve municipal contracts, personnel changes, and property acquisitions. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast live via CharmTV for those unable to attend in person.
City Council Committee Updates
The Baltimore City Council has updated its legislative calendar for today. Residents should note the following committee activities:
- Charter Review Special Committee: A virtual meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. to discuss pending Charter Review legislation (LO25-0038). The session is hosted in the Reeves Room at City Hall, and public access is available through the city’s Webex portal.
- Hearing Cancellation: The Public Health and Environment Committee meeting originally scheduled for 10:00 a.m. today regarding the oversight of recovery homes and substance abuse clinics has been cancelled. This hearing will be rescheduled for a future date, and updated notices will be posted to the Council’s legislative tracking system.
Metropolitan Service and Infrastructure Advisories
Several critical infrastructure and environmental notices are currently in effect for the region:
- Sewage Capacity Moratorium: Regional authorities have declared a moratorium on new sewer capacity allocations for the Baltimore City Sewer Service Area (SSA). This emergency measure is due to peak flow capacity limitations at the Patapsco Interceptor and is intended to prevent sanitary sewer overflows. The moratorium affects new development projects and building permits in the shared infrastructure zones.
- Sanitation Maintenance: The Department of Public Works (DPW) in coordination with the Department of Transportation (DOT) is continuing operations to clear illegal dumping sites near the Falls Road maintenance yard. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to maintain city-owned properties and environmental quality near the Jones Falls waterway.
- Water Main Replacement: Ongoing work continues on the Fox Chapel water main replacement project. Minor traffic disruptions and lane shifts are expected near Pot Spring Road and Dulaney Valley Road throughout the day.
Public Meeting for Budget Planning
For residents in the neighboring Baltimore County, the District 7 Town Hall meeting with Councilman Todd Crandell is scheduled for tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sollers Point Multipurpose Center. The meeting will include a community open house and a presentation on the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, providing a forum for public input on local spending priorities.
State Regulatory Notice
The Maryland Public Service Commission has formally announced that the DRIVE Act hearing, which was originally slated for today, March 4, has been postponed. Stakeholders and the public are advised to monitor the Commission’s website for the announcement of a new hearing date.
