Six suspects, including five juveniles, face charges after three theft incidents on Belair Road

Arrests follow reported thefts at Northeast Baltimore convenience stores

Baltimore police have arrested six people—five juveniles and an 18-year-old—after reported thefts at three businesses along the 6600 block of Belair Road in Northeast Baltimore. Police said officers were dispatched at about 1:39 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, after receiving reports that several juveniles were taking large quantities of merchandise from convenience stores in the area.

The suspects arrested include a 13-year-old boy, two 15-year-old boys, a 16-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl, and an 18-year-old man, police said. Authorities did not release the names of the juveniles.

Allegations include an assault during one of the incidents

Police said the group is accused of stealing items including toiletries and assorted snacks from the businesses. In addition to the theft allegations, police reported that one of the suspects assaulted an employee by throwing a box of candy that struck the employee in the face.

Authorities did not provide details on the employee’s medical condition, whether treatment was required, or whether additional charges related to assault were filed beyond the theft-related allegations.

Different processing paths for juveniles and the 18-year-old

Police said the five juveniles were taken to the Baltimore City Juvenile Justice Center. The specific charges for the juveniles were not listed in the initial police account.

The 18-year-old man was taken to Baltimore Central Booking, where police said he was charged with theft.

What is known—and what remains unclear

The incident summary released by police provides a basic timeline and the ages of those taken into custody, but leaves several key questions unanswered, including the identities of the three affected businesses, the estimated value of the merchandise taken, and whether any items were recovered at the time of the arrests.

It is also unclear from the initial police description whether all six suspects are alleged to have participated in each of the three theft incidents, or whether investigators attribute different roles to different individuals across the reported events.

  • Dispatch time reported by police: approximately 1:39 p.m., Monday, Feb. 23, 2026

  • Location described by police: 6600 block of Belair Road, Northeast Baltimore

  • Suspects arrested: five juveniles (ages 13, 15, 15, 16, and 15) and one adult (age 18)

Police said the thefts involved “large amounts” of items taken from convenience stores and reported that an employee was struck in the face by a thrown box of candy.

The case remains under investigation. Any charging decisions for the juveniles beyond initial intake, as well as court dates for the adult defendant, were not included in the initial police account.
